Skeen Shine is a bespoke e-commerce solution developed for a USM (Universiti Sains Malaysia) spin-off brand. The project involved creating a premium, research-focused digital storefront that balances clinical authority with a seamless shopping experience. Beyond the consumer-facing site, the project includes a custom-built administrative "Command Center" to manage global inventory, sales analytics, and customer communications.

The Challenge
The skincare market is highly competitive and relies heavily on consumer trust. The primary hurdles were: Communicating Science: Traditional e-commerce templates often lack the layout flexibility to explain complex scientific research and active ingredients effectively. Performance & SEO: As a specialized brand, the site needed to be lightning-fast and SEO-optimized to compete with larger retail platforms. Administrative Overhead: The client needed a way to manage products, track revenue, and configure shipping/payment settings without navigating a cluttered third-party interface.
Our Solution
We built a tailored ecosystem designed for conversion and ease of management: Education-First Product Pages: Designed a custom "Three Active Ingredients" module that utilizes clinical iconography and concise descriptions (Propolis, Sodium Hyaluronate, Red Yeast Rice) to build immediate credibility with the user. Optimized Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) Flow: Implemented a clean, "Shop Now" focused UI with persistent navigation and category filtering (Facial Wash, Serums, Sets) to minimize friction in the buyer’s journey. Integrated "My Shop Admin" Dashboard: Developed a custom administrative suite that provides a bird's-eye view of the business—tracking Total Products, Pending Orders, and Real-time Revenue through a clean, data-driven interface. Localized Incentives: Built-in dynamic banners for free shipping thresholds (e.g., "Free Delivery over RM99") and "Made in Malaysia" trust badges to cater specifically to the local market. Custom Backend Architecture: Utilized a high-performance framework (Laravel) to ensure fast load times and a scalable database structure for future product line expansions.

Professional Brand Authority: Successfully translated complex academic research into a consumer-friendly digital brand that looks and feels like a premium global competitor. Operational Efficiency: Reduced the time spent on order management by centralizing sales reports, carrier settings, and email templates into a single, intuitive admin dashboard.
